Why Thursday?
Why Thursday?
When many people go to work on Friday they begin to think about their weekend. While not everyone may experience the traditional weekend, we ‘pause’ on Thursday evenings to reflect and seek God’s blessing on what has been and what will be. We have learned there is no conflict-free time for worship, but have found this time to be best. We invite you to join us for snacks at 6:45 and worship at 7:00 P.M. We look forward to getting to know you!

Here’s our thinking:
The Hebrew tradition of the Bible [Old Testament] leads us to understand that the 7th day or ‘Sabbath’ is a day of rest.
Early Christians adopted the first day of the week as their ‘sabbath’ and used it for worship in remembrance of the traditional day upon which Christ was resurrected. We decided to reclaim the Christian ‘sabbath’ as a day of rest.
We meet in the Family Life Center of the First Christian Church of Jenks, OK located across the street east from the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on Main Street in Jenks. While not the most attractive of worship settings, it provides a place for our children to play during praise songs , for church dinners to become part of the worship setting, and for the focus to be on God’s spirit beyond beautiful surroundings.
